These photographs were taken at the end of 2005 at the Shaolin Academy in China. Here kids from pre-school age onward are being prepared for a career in martial arts. Kung Fu is done as competitive sports. Many of the students spend several years at the academy and often see their families only once a year. Much of the daily training is done outdoors and takes up the biggest part of their day.
