In 2006 I lived for four months in Bologna with my wife Christiane and my son Luca Matteo. I had great expectations for this stay, and some of them were fulfilled. But those months were also a time of un-perfection which of course had an influence on my photography.

These pictures have been made with a Holga camera. The Holga is perhaps the worst medium format camera in the world but nevertheless valued by me and many other photographers. It reproduces the world un-perfectly – and therefore it was the perfect fit for Bologna.
